Privacy policy

Edith is provided by Operational Software Limited (company number 12141193). This policy explains what data we handle to run Edith.

Data we collect

  • Account email, display name, login/session records, and workspace membership.
  • Markdown documents, assets, comments, suggestions, review links, share links, and related activity.
  • Support chat messages and support metadata when support chat is enabled or used.
  • Security, diagnostic, and aggregate product usage data.
  • Billing records if you buy a paid plan.

How we use it

  • Provide the Edith app, authentication, document review, sharing, support, and billing.
  • Protect accounts, prevent abuse, debug problems, and improve product quality.
  • Send login codes and service messages through Postmark.
  • Use Umami Analytics for cookieless, aggregate product analytics. We do not use analytics cookies or cross-site tracking.

Providers

We use providers for hosting, email, support chat, analytics, and site security. Current providers are listed on the Subprocessors page.

Retention

  • Personal account content is kept while the account is active, then deleted or anonymised after closure where feasible.
  • Business workspace content is kept while the business account is active. After termination, we may keep it for a limited export, recovery, legal, security, or accounting period.
  • Backups, logs, billing records, and support records may remain for limited operational or legal periods before deletion or expiry.

Rights and safeguards

You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal data through in-app support or support chat. We and our providers may process data outside your country and use appropriate safeguards where required. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
